Workshop: ‘Message in a Hexagon‘
13:00-16:00
In this workshop participants will be encouraged to consider incorporating images, fabrics, threads and other pieces of memorabilia into hexagon shapes, using the English paper piecing technique. We don’t expect to complete a work but to begin a journey of exploring one’s own heritage. The process will allow participants to evaluate gifts they have been bestowed from their ancestors and represent them physically into their own designs. Participants may use any fabric they wish, to learn the technique of English paper piecing, if the ancestral aspect does not appeal to them.
Cost: €50
Some materials included. Bring a basic hand-sewing kit and personal fabrics and images.
