Welcome to the Irish Guild of Embroiderers
The Guild was set up in 2000 to bring together like-minded people with an interest in textiles, particularly embroidery, and to share inspirations, ideas and techniques.
Our membership encompasses a wide variety of textile skills and levels of abilities from complete novices to more experienced embroiderers. Some teach and exhibit nationally and internationally; some sell their work or take commissions; others are total beginners or prefer to enjoy their art for themselves alone. It is this mix of abilities and unbounded enthusiasm that gives our group a great dynamic atmosphere.
Our monthly meetings are open to members and non-members and are a great opportunity to socialise over tea/coffee, present current projects, and seek advice.
At most meetings, you can expect:
Presentation by a guest artist/speaker
A workshop with the guest speaker
A visiting shop where you can buy embroidery supplies
Members €5 | Student Members €3 | Visitors €7 (payable at the door)
As well as a reduced sub at monthly meetings, our members enjoy a range of benefits, including first preference for workshop places, opportunities to exhibit their work, access to stitch events and trips, access to the extensive library, and access to the members-only section of the website.
Membership year runs from 1st September to the 31st August the following year.
Membership fees are:
€40/year Greater Dublin Area Member
€25/year Country Member
